My work sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and data. I focus on building analytical tools that are technically sound, understandable to decision-makers, and practical enough to support real business action.
Professional Background
My experience spans financial analysis, investment modeling, business analytics, auditing, accounting, forecasting, and operational reporting. That combination means I am comfortable working in the ledger and in the field data at the same time.
Understanding both the financial and the operational perspective matters. A capital model is only as good as the operating assumptions behind it, and operating teams make better decisions when they can see the financial consequences of the choices in front of them.
How I Approach Problems
I start with the business question rather than the data set: what decision is being made, who is making it, and what would change the answer.
From there the process is deliberate — validate the underlying data, make the key assumptions explicit, build an analytical framework that can be reviewed by someone else, test scenarios at the edges of the assumption set, and translate the result into a clear recommendation with the reasoning attached.
Communicating with Decision-Makers
A technically correct model is only useful when stakeholders can understand the result, challenge the assumptions, and act on the conclusion.
I design analysis to be interrogated. Assumptions are visible, drivers are labeled, and the summary answers the question in plain language before the supporting detail is introduced.
Process Improvement and Automation
Recurring reporting should not consume the analytical time that produces insight. I look for the manual steps in a workflow and remove them — standardizing inputs, consolidating sources, and documenting the logic so the output is reproducible.
Practically, that means Excel and Power Query for structured transformation, Power BI and Tableau for distribution, and SQL and Python where volume or repetition makes scripting the better answer.
Beyond the Spreadsheet
Outside of work I stay involved in leadership and professional development, and I travel whenever there is a reason to. Concerts, movies, board and card games, and keeping up with technology fill in the rest.
